The most common form of DNA accidents involves a single base change. these DNA accidents involve small numbers of nucleotides. for example different types of mutations are responsible for Familial hypercholesterolemia and Beta- Thalassemia.
The most common forms of DNA accidents are: Single-base substitutions (Silent mutations, Splice-site mutations, Nonsense mutations) and Insertions and Deletions (Fragile X Syndrome, Huntington's Disease, Muscular Dystrophy) and Translocations. PS. I liked the topic very much... :)
